URSA AWARDS 2013 the final results

The final results of the URSA AWARDS COMPETITION have been announced!
I'm very happy to say that...
my hedgehog Vladimir Igel has won second place in the Animal Kingdom category...

...and Sally&Puck have a third prize in the Vignettes category.

Little Milo also got an honorable mention. He didn't make it in the first three of the Furry Friends category but he feels proud of this fourth place nevertheless!

I have decided to enter the URSA AWARDS competition. It was so much fun last year, I really couldn't wait to see all the great entries. And finally, the time has come.
I have entered five creations to be found in four categories:

 It was very difficult to choose which creation to enter, a bit like choosing your favourite between your children....well, I hope these five 'children' of mine will be appreciated!

A nice package

How nice! Right on the day after the URSA AWARDS winners announcement...I get a nicely wrapped package, and sure, here they are!

There were also some nice gifts...and guess what? My children decided they must share in the happy event, and chose a gift each. It is only fair! :-)
So, now Pietro is the happy owner of a silver plated bear 'piggy bank', and Fabio of a star shaped decoration!
I feel content with my two green ribbons...and with the beautiful plaque!

URSA AWARDS: Beniamino won first place in his category!

I'm so happy! The URSA AWARDS winners have been announced, and dear BENIAMINO has won a first place in his category!

I'm so very proud of him! I think it was in the stars as BENIAMINO in Italian means 'my favorite'...:-)
Also SOOT the raccoon and OSCAR the cat got a third place in this wonderful competition.

I'm very proud of them also, of course!
I am very grateful to all the kind people that took the time to vote for one of my creations. These awards give me 'fuel' and inspiration to keep going!

Waiting for the URSA final results

This is a new thing for me. I feel shy as it is my first post, in my new blog, and I'm still not sure...what do I really mean to do with this blog?
My husband says 'just write something, it doesn't really matter as nobody will really read it'. This is meant as an encouragement....;-)

Well, the blog is called 'Bear in Mind' as most of my 'free' thinking time lately has gone into bears and bear making. And of course it would be nice if you 'bear in mind' the word KALEideaSCOPE, my bear making business name!
So I better start with my excitement about tomorrow. They will be announcing the winners for the URSA AWARSD 2012. As I have three finalists in this competition, and it is the first competition I have ever tried my hand at, I am already very very proud of having three creations that made the finals. It doesn't really matter if they just make third place, all of them, I already feel a big winner! Of course I wouldn't mind a first or second place....:-)
So this is what I'm doing today: experimenting with my new blog, trying to get some work done on my next bear...while keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow. Quite a hard thing to do! ;-)

BENIAMINO

I'm particularly proud of this fellow! It is the first time I do eye whites with black eyes. It sure add to expressiveness.

His poppy flower is from one of my design for felt flowers. I adapted it to go on a long stem, and I'm happy of how it has turned out.

Beniamino now lives in FINLAND.

SOOT the raccoon

I love raccoons! They have such a funny face, and I was meaning to make one for some time. well, I shouldn't boast, but I am a proud mother. I really really love how he came out!
He now lives in the UK.

OSCAR the cat

Another cat. This time it is definitely a boy. I'm quite proud of my little OSCAR. It is the first time I use blue eyes, and it was very challenging. I think my needle felting skills are getting better....:-)
Oscar now lives in the USA.
