MILO the kitten

My little kitten is ready for adoption. I have finished him yesterday, after a very long session of scissor sculpting and shading.
And here he is, proudly posing for his pictures....

Milo has been adopted, thank you!

KENZO - brown bear cub

I have done a colorful ruff and felt ball for little Kenzo. And I have taken more pictures of him...many, many pictures! It was really great fun, I think he looks good on pictures. With brown bears I am always a little worried because I feel it is a very difficult colour to photograph. I guess I'm slowly learning.

Kenzo has been adopted, thank you!

Brown bear cub - first pictures

I have taken some pictures of my newly finished brown bear cub. I haven't sewn his felt ball and ruff yet, but it is a sunny day today, and as we are not enjoying that many lately, I wanted to make the best of it.

Brown bear cub - WIP

I have just finished the shading on my brown bear cub face. I have to say, I am mighty pleased with him! It has taken me the best part of two afternoons only to root the beige alpaca fur into the needle felted muzzle. Sometimes I think I must be crazy to do such a thing as this, but when I see the result I reconcile myself to the idea of the long hours....
Here is the face.

Isn't he precious? I just hope his mummy will also appreciate him as he is a commission!

Kitten - WIP

I underestimated the time needed for this little kitten. It has taken me ages to do his face. I almost always work with black glass eyes. I did a couple of projects with coloured eyes, and it always take me longer to figure out the outline and the needle felting around it. I really wanted to try out these clear brown eyes, they are perfect for a cat.
After a couple of days hard work, I am finally on the right track I think.

He still needs some finishing touches. His eyes need still more slanting on the outer edges. And I want to give him whiskers. Also his ears need some shading.
I have been working so much on him that I am loosing perspective. It happens sometimes when I work long on a project, I cannot see it with a critical eye anymore, my brain gets used to it.
The solution is:
-take some pictures
-leave it be for a while
This means that for the next days I will be working on the brown alpaca bear cub....under the curious eyes of my little unfinished kitten!

More time please....

I'm really struggling to find the time to consistently work on my creations lately.
I have two projects under way. One is a kitten. I chose a very nice faux fur that is soft and quite realistic. He is all sewn, turned....
I have his 'bones' (the wiring) ready. I will probably need about 7 - 8 more hours to finish him.

Then, my other project is a commission for a brown bear in the style of my polar bear Dodo. The fabric I'm using is just exceptional. A super soft dark brown Schulte alpaca. I have only cut and trimmed here, there is still a lot to do (I don't even want to think in hours terms here).

Now, it is time to get some work done. The only question is....which one first?
To be or not to be......
